Starting with game version 8.0.1 (released in July 2026), Magic: Puzzle Quest introduces a new game mode: the Planeswalker Challenge! In this new mode, players will encounter fresh challenges, different gameplay and strategies, new rewards, and more.

The Planeswalker Challenge is a game mode based on vertical progression, where you will face new challenges daily and will need to create new strategies to succeed.

The mode consists of six towers: one for each color and one multicolored. In each tower, you will encounter different challenges and will need to build decks using mono-color Planeswalkers that match the tower. 

Within each tower, the difficulty will progressively increase, starting from Beginner/Custom level and going up to Expert.

From Monday to Saturday, a different tower will be unlocked each day. On Sunday, all towers will be available to battle. 

Each day, you will receive 3 charges to play, which can be used in the tower available that day. You may continue playing your current level until you achieve a victory. Once you win, you will receive a reward, and one charge will be consumed, allowing up to 3 victories per day.

On Sundays, you will have 3 charges available in each tower, since all towers will be unlocked to play.

Planeswalker Challenge - A “how-to” guide

To access the Planeswalker Challenge, you must first defeat a boss in Story Mode at least once during the lifetime of your account. After doing so, the mode will become unlocked and can be accessed at any time.

Once you access the mode by selecting the separate node in the Story Mode tab, you will encounter six different towers. They will be locked and unlocked independently, according to the day of the week.

From Monday to Saturday, a different tower will be unlocked each day. On Sunday, all towers will be available to play.

When selecting a tower, you will face the current challenge. Each challenge must be completed using a Planeswalker that matches the tower color, but the deck can have cards with different colors.

Each tower features progressive difficulty, becoming more challenging as you advance through its stages.

After successfully completing each battle, you will receive rewards! New levels will also be added, updating each tower and providing new challenges to conquer.
