Starting in the 6.5.0 game version (released on March 5th, 2024), some events will have all their changes upfront. You can check more details about this change on the release notes here.
What does “all charges upfront” mean?
It means you’ll get all the event charges when you join the event. This way, there will be no recharges for the event node(s). The charges you got at the moment you joined the event are the maximum number of matches you can play during the whole event timespan.
You can plan to spend your charges according to your schedule instead of waiting for the timer to get another charge in X hours (depending on the time zone you are in it could be during the middle of the night, for example).
How can I see the number of charges I have in an event?
(The Emrakul’s Corruption event will be used as an example here.)
After joining the event, you can see the number of nodes the event has and note that they are “blank” and don’t show the number of available charges.
In this example, this event has 03 nodes.
After you choose a deck for each node, you’ll see the number of charges available in each node (circled in red in the image below).
In this example, this event has 08 charges per node, totaling 24 charges (or matches) for the whole event.
Note that each node has a colored circle (blue on the top node, and yellow on the left and right). Along with the number present in the node, this circle shows the player the number of charges left in the node.
After playing one battle in the node and consequently using a charge, the number is decreased by one, and the color in the circle decreases proportionally to the charges used.
You can see below the progression of the numbers and the circle as the charges are used during the event.
In this example, the total number of charges per node is 08. With each charge you use, the circle decreases ⅛ in its size and the number by one.
After using all the charges in the event, all nodes will show the number zero and no colored circle will be shown (the circle will be black).
Since there are no more recharges, after using the last charge in the node you won’t see the timer for the next recharge as it used to be.
